Lagos Life Naira and top-ups

The ₦ amounts inside the game are Game Naira, a fictional unit. The terms say they are not Nigerian cash, cannot be withdrawn to a bank, and cannot be redeemed for real currency.

Terms§5–§61 Oct 2026

What Game Naira is

Section 5 of the Terms of Use says Lagos Life uses the word “Naira”, the symbol “₦”, and Naira-denominated numbers inside a fictional economy. Those units may be called “Game Naira” or “Lagos Life Naira”. The section says Game Naira:

  • is not Nigerian legal tender, physical Nigerian Naira, or eNaira
  • is not issued, guaranteed, sponsored, backed, or approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria
  • is not a bank deposit, electronic money, stored value, or a financial account
  • does not represent money held on trust, or a debt Lagos Life owes the player
  • cannot be withdrawn into a bank account
  • cannot be redeemed from Lagos Life for real-world Naira or another real-world currency
  • does not carry an exchange rate against legal tender
  • has no real-world cash value merely because the game displays “Naira” or ₦

A display such as “₦1,000,000” inside the game does not mean the player can collect one million Nigerian Naira. The terms describe earning, spending, gifting, and transferring units within the game rules. Those actions do not turn the virtual balance into cash.

Paying real money

Section 6 says Lagos Life may allow players to purchase Game Naira with real money. A purchase gives a limited contractual entitlement to receive the specified virtual units in the account. It does not create ownership of Nigerian currency, a deposit, an investment, a security, a financial product, or a right to redeem the units for cash.

Payment processing is currently provided through Flutterwave. Payments made before 6 October 2026 were processed through Bachs. The payment provider’s own terms can also apply. The Privacy & Cookie Policy states the same Flutterwave and Bachs handover. We re-read both on 7 October 2026. The documents’ effective date remains 1 October 2026.

Check the amount of virtual currency and the real-money price on the official purchase screen before paying. This guide does not list live package prices or sell top-ups.

Refunds, as section 10 states them

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, purchases are generally final once the purchased digital item, Game Naira, advertising service, integration, placement, or other service has been successfully delivered or substantially performed.

A refund may be considered where a real-money payment was successfully collected, the corresponding purchase was not successfully completed or delivered in Lagos Life, and the failure can be reasonably verified with the provider’s transaction records and Lagos Life’s ledger. Where the records show the Game Naira or other digital item was correctly credited, the purchase will ordinarily not qualify for a refund merely because the purchaser changes their mind, spends the units, transfers them, loses them through gameplay, or no longer wants the service.

Keep purchase types separate

Game Naira top-ups and advertising placements are different purchases. A price shown for advertising should not be treated as a currency-package or in-game housing price. Check the item description on the official site so you know what a payment buys.

Questions

Can you cash out Lagos Life Naira?

Terms section 5 says Game Naira cannot be withdrawn into a bank account and cannot be redeemed from Lagos Life for real-world currency. A ₦ display is not a debt for that amount of Nigerian Naira.

Who takes a real-money payment?

The terms checked on 7 October 2026 name Flutterwave as the current payment processor and Bachs for payments before 6 October. Check the provider and purchase details on the official checkout before paying.

Are top-ups refundable if you change your mind?

Section 10 says a correctly delivered purchase ordinarily does not qualify for a refund merely because the purchaser changes their mind, spends the units, or transfers them. A refund may be considered when payment was collected and delivery failed, if that failure can be verified.
