From launch to a shared city
Launch day
Techpoint reports that Lagos Life launched on Nigeria's Independence Day, bringing a browser-based life simulation to a virtual Lagos.
An early outage
According to Techpoint, players received 100,000 Game Naira after a short outage. This was a historical compensation event, not a current sign-up offer.
The story behind the game
Condia published an interview about the game's origins. The developer reported reaching two million users; that figure is a self-reported milestone, not an independently audited count.
Reporting: Techpoint, 5 October and Condia, 6 October. These are news events, not official patch notes.
Guide update: 7 October 2026
- Getting started: added the public map flow, three destination prompts, and the fields visible on the registration screen.
- Locations: listed 30 public map labels and identified Market as Balogun Market and Office as Marina Towers in the signed-out prompts.
- Accounts: clarified the optional email field and the 18+ agreement on the current sign-up screen.
- Visual walkthrough: added original screenshots of the Market and Amala Shitta prompts, plus the mobile registration screen.
These are updates to this independent guide, not claims that the game launched those features on this date.
Upcoming locations
The public map marks Airport and Refinery as coming soon, without a launch date on either label. Visit lagoslife.app for their current status. A changing player count or map banner is not, by itself, a game release announcement.
Questions
When did Flutterwave become the payment processor?
Terms section 6, re-read on 7 October 2026, says payment processing is currently Flutterwave and that payments before 6 October 2026 were processed through Bachs. The terms document itself is effective 1 October 2026.
Did the map change on 7 October?
We recorded the public labels that day. We do not have our own earlier count in this guide, so we do not state a before-and-after change.
