How do promotions work?
Each rank has four grades, I to IV. Grade IV earns the rank's listed amount; grades I–III earn a little less, so the jobs board's starting figure is about 87% of the first rank's top grade. When you move up a grade or a rank, the game tells you your new wage, for example “PROMOTED to … New pay ₦…/shift”.
- Performance: you need full performance (100) before the next step.
- Shifts: a minimum number of shifts in your current grade, rising from one at the first rank to three at higher ranks.
- Skill, Lagos Rep, and days: moving to a new rank can also need a skill level, Lagos Rep, and days in the job.
- The top job: the last rank goes through a board interview. You can answer with your work skill, Charisma, or Lagos Rep. If the board says no, you can try again later.
The game also has short courses at UNILAG. Its help says that finishing one gives “a certificate and a career boost”.
Can you earn more than your salary?
Yes. Side gigs, businesses, land, and savings all add income; see how to make money in Lagos Life. Players with high net worth face higher “Big Man” prices for many things, so a big salary from Lagos Life jobs does not always go as far.
What players report
One player posted on 9 October about being promoted from Branch Manager to MD/CEO after a Nepo Baby start. That is a single player report, not something this guide has checked. A salary in Lagos Life is Game Naira and cannot be cashed out.
