How to make money in Lagos Life

In Lagos Life you make money by working shifts at a job, taking side gigs, buying businesses that pay out every evening, and putting spare cash into savings, bonds, or land. Lagos Life's help says to start with a job: “get a job from Phone → Jobs, then go to work and earn.” Everything here is Game Naira. It cannot be cashed out, and anyone promising real money for it is a scammer. Below are the official numbers for the main ways to make money in Lagos Life.

What do the Nepo Baby and LAPO Baby starts give you?

The game's code lists two special backgrounds, Nepo Baby and LAPO Baby. Other new characters start with the cash that comes with the home they pick (see houses and rent). The two backgrounds, in Lagos Life's own words:

StartWhat you get
Nepo Baby“₦500,000 pocket money”, a “Fully furnished Lekki flat” where “Daddy pays the rent”, a car, and a Branch Manager job at a bank from day one
LAPO BabyA ₦60,000 LAPO loan, repaid at ₦12,000 a week; Hustle starts at 2 and you learn skills 25% faster

Which businesses can you buy, and what do they pay?

Open Phone → Invest. Lagos Life's help says businesses “start from” a data kiosk up to a Quilox share and “pay out every evening at 6 PM”. The table shows the list price, the range of daily takings, and the daily running cost. Some days go badly (for the kiosk, the example is “The network went down and nobody bought data all day”), and you lose money on those days.

Businesses are the biggest way to make money in Lagos Life once you have savings. Selling one back returns 60% of the price (see the resale rules below). A Mack haulage trailer costs ₦18,000,000, earns ₦117,000–₦209,000 an evening, pays a driver ₦30,000, and can break down; you can own up to three.

What about land, the property fund, and the bank?

  • Land: plots are bought in Phone → Invest and change in value over time. Lagos Life caps you at 20 bare plots and takes a 5% fee when you sell.
  • Lagos Property Fund: plots over the cap move into the fund. The help says it “pays 1% a week, every evening”, and you can cash out 5% a week.
  • Bank: “Put money in savings to earn interest every day, or buy a 7-day bond for a better rate and cash it when it matures.”
  • Side gigs: HANDI HQ offers one-off jobs in beauty, cleaning, carpentry, electrical work, cooking, and tattoos, listed at ₦2,500–₦8,000 each.

How much do you get back when you sell?

Resale rules as served by lagoslife.app on 13 October 2026. Since the 12 October 2026 update, Big Man purchases made from 8 October count the Big Man price you actually paid; purchases before 8 October still sell back on the list price, so their Big Man extra is not returned.

What should you avoid?

  • Betting: LagosBet uses in-game cash. The official advice is “Stake small: rent and food come first.”
  • “Big Man” prices: once your net worth passes ₦1bn, many prices are multiplied (×10 at ₦1bn, ×50 at ₦100bn, ×100 at ₦1tn). On 12 October players reported selling Banana Island land and Quilox shares for a small fraction of what they paid. The rules have since changed for recent purchases: see the resale table below.
  • Cash-out offers: the help says: “Lagos Life money is game money: it can't be cashed out to a real bank. Anyone promising cash-out is scamming you.” Terms section 5 also bans selling Game Naira for real money.

Questions
